Welcome to the St. Andrews Society of Aiken, Inc. website. The society was founded in autumn of 2000 by people who desired to preserve and educate the traditions and heritage of American decendants of Scots.
We are a non-profit society whose objective is "to perpetuate Scottish culture and tradition through educational and cultural activities, and to provide scholarly and charitable support to our members, their families and the community".
The St. Andrews Society of Aiken, Inc. is governed by an Executive Committee the following officers of which each serves a two-year term:
The Executive Committee is overseen by the Society Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of seven members, each of which serves a three year term. Three members are elected in each of two consecutive years with the remaining member elected the third year.
Committees plan and organize the various events and activities of the Society. Each committee is overseen by a committee chair who is elected to a two-year term. Committee chair elections are held alternate years to the Executive Committee elections. The committee chairs for the society are:
